Why a dedicated institute
Cancer treatment fragments easily. A patient is diagnosed in one place, has surgery in another, chemotherapy somewhere else and radiotherapy at a fourth — and nobody holds the whole plan. Bringing the pathway together is the point of the Cancer Institute, not the equipment.
Until radiation oncology opens here, our team plans radiotherapy with partner centres and stays involved rather than referring patients away.

Protocol-driven cycles in a monitored day-care setting.
Onco-surgery
GI, urological and general cancer surgery, robotic where suitable.

Supportive care
Pain management, nutrition, transfusion and 24×7 intensive care.

Cost, insurance and PMJAY
Cancer costs vary widely with type, stage and regimen, so we do not publish figures. Ask for a written estimate once a plan is agreed. Health1 accepts PMJAY, CGHS, ECHS and all major insurers and TPAs for cashless treatment. Confirm your specific package with our insurance desk before admission.

Is the Health1 Cancer Institute open?
Medical oncology, day-care chemotherapy and onco-surgery run now at Shilaj and Gandhinagar. The dedicated institute building with radiation oncology is currently being commissioned.
Is radiotherapy available at Health1?
Not yet on site. Radiation oncology is part of the institute being commissioned at Shilaj. Until then our oncology team coordinates radiotherapy with partner centres.
Where is the Cancer Institute located?
At Health1 Shilaj, our flagship hospital near Shilaj Circle on the S.P. Ring Road, Thaltej, Ahmedabad.
Is cancer treatment covered under PMJAY at Health1?
Health1 accepts PMJAY, CGHS, ECHS and major insurers. Coverage for a specific regimen depends on your scheme — confirm with our insurance desk before starting.
Can I get a second opinion on a cancer diagnosis?
Yes. Bring your biopsy report, imaging and any prior treatment advice, and a senior specialist will review the plan before you commit to it.
